Zy (pronounced zai) lives in North Carolina.
Originally from Ghana, Zy attended Adisadel College and first came to the United
States to pursue higher education. He holds a masters degree in business
administration (MBA) with a major in finance from New York University's Stern
School of Business. After graduation, he worked as a corporate banker in New
York before returning to Ghana to pursue a career as a transactions investment
broker and engage in real estate.
In 2000, Zy gave his life to the Lord Jesus Christ and embarked on a new
journey as a soldier in the army of the Lord. This walk with the Lord led him
back to the United States in 2005. On July 29, 2007, he began work on this music
project. This was Zy's first significant involvement in the music business.
Initially he intended to be a producer, bringing together various talents to
create a product. As the work progressed, with encouragement from his
collaborator, Jonathan Burton, Zy took on the task of becoming the artist
himself. Studio work began on Saturday, 12/01/2007. Zy wrote all of the songs on
the CD. He produced and arranged all the songs in collaboration with Jonathan
Burton. He is the lead vocal on all 16 songs as well as the background vocalist
on all but one song.
Zy
is also the executive producer of this CD. This CD became published on July 14,
2008 and was officially released on July 24, 2008. With no musical ability in
terms of playing any instruments, but just the ear for the right sound, Zy
believes that all credit for this production belongs to God, the Father, His
Son, Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit who dwells in him to direct him. If you
look at the credits at the back of the CD, you will notice that the first credit
is given to The Helper. Those who are familiar with the word of God recognize
the name. The Helper is another name for The Holy Spirit as mentioned by the
Lord Jesus Christ Himself in the book of John, chapter 14 verse 16; and again in
John 14:25.
Zy considers his full time work to be a prayer warrior for the Lord.
Everything else is secondary to that. It is Zy's hope that the success of this
CD will provide a forum for enlightening the world on the knowledge of Jesus
Christ for that is the single most important knowledge for everyone. Zy is a
single father of a son - Judah (means 'Praise') named after the lead tribe of
Israel, the earthly lineage of Jesus Christ who is the Lion of the tribe of
Judah. Enter into the presence of God with praise. Romans 14:8-9// 'If we live,
we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. So, whether we live or
die, we belong to the Lord. For this reason, Jesus Christ died and returned to
life so that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living'. Romans
11:35-36// "Who has ever given to God that God should repay him? For from Him
and through Him and to Him are all things" All Glory belongs forever to the
Greater One who is in all, for all, with all and above all.
